Lost Finale

In my obsession with all things Lost in the past few weeks, and the online
"games" and such, the name "Widmore" has come up frequently. Apparently the
Widmore Corp has tied to Hanso, and thus Dharma. (Also with connections to
Hanso is Paik Heavy Industries, which is probably run by Sun's father, Mr.
Paik.) Charles Widmore was the guy in car waiting for Desmond and his
daughter (Penelope) is Des' great love. (The girl at the end that looks like
the girl from Grey's Anatomy.) I have some other info, but too much to write
down. Call me later and I can read from the file that I've created. (Yeah, I
know, I'm such a dork...)

My basic conclusion is that Charles Widmore organized the race that Des was
in, knowing that he would compete, to get him to the island, so he would be
out of his daughter's life forever. Thus, my further belief that Libby
is/was a plant, and either a Hanso board member/Dharma psychologist/Widmore
relation. Or maybe she's all of these things.

While we now have an answer as to why the plane crashed, initially I was
disappointed, because as you noticed, it seems to mean that it is all
coincidence, which kinda annoys me. But...it could be an orchestrated
coincidence. If all the Losties/Tailies were on that plane for a reason,
perhaps put there be somebody/somebodies, than that person/those people
would know how and when they wanted that plane down. The
Others/Dharma/Hanso/What Have You seem to be all about the misdirection, so
if they orchestrated the numbers not being pushed in order to get the plane
down, then Kelvin (or whatever his name is – that wasn't his name in Sayid's
flashback) intended to draw Desmond out so no one could push the buttons.

I think if anyone is going to be hard on Jack for his "mistake" it will be
Jack himself, and we'll see another flashback next season where he laments
his poor choices (again).

No idea about Eko and Locke, but how could they kill them? Do you think
Desmond is a goner? How anti-climactic would that be for Penelope if she
eventually finds the island?

Oh, by the way, the guys calling Penelope were speaking Portuguese (I
thought Russian too) and the theory is that they are at the South Pole.
There's also a long thing with the Hanso site about a character name
"Persephone" that I want to discuss with you on the phone.

I'm thinking that Sayid, Jin and Sun will go searching for the captured,
since they won't come to meet them. I don't think they will drag out Jack,
Sawyer and Kate being missing, but if they do, I think we will see them
every week, unlike Michael who we didn't see at all until after he came
back.

I read that Harold Perrineau will only be back for guest appearances (I
guess that goes for Malcolm David Kelley too), so I guess we will have some
sort of resolution to the Michael/Walt storyline, but it won't last the
whole season (or if it does it will be in snippets).

Regardless of notHenry being the leader or not, I think his being captured
was part of their plan. My guess is he's second in command, not the "Him"
that everyone alludes to, but maybe his sidekick. Somebody important, but
not THAT important. I also read that Michael Emerson (notHenry) will be a
full-time cast member next season. I'm guessing we will be seeing more of
Zeke/Tom, Ms. Klugh (which I thought was spelled "Clue," but I guess not)
and Alex as well.

All in all, I loved the episode. I think they sort of gave us some answers
(the biggest of which is that they do all appear to be alive and somewhere
in reality if Penelope is searching for them), and threw more questions at
us that will sustain us for the summer.

The best thing about the show for me is this "game" that they have created.
It's not that I'm finding out huge answers (or ANY real answers), but I'm
getting information. I am so impressed with the lengths that they have gone
to to permeate all realms of pop culture: it's on TV, on the phone, on the
internet, in printed books, in newspapers, and it's so cool when it all pops
up. Last night, a member of the Hanso Foundation was interviewed on Jimmy
Kimmel Live. I DVR-ed it, but have not watched yet. At the end of Mission:
Impossible 3, The Hanso Foundation is on the list of "Special Thanks." Its
stuff like that that could keep the show fresh for me for another few years
– like I said, I'm not really sure that I'm finding out info, but when stuff
like the name "Widmore" pops up on the show, and I know where it's from, I
feel like I know a secret about the show that few others do. (By the way,
Sun's pregnancy test was manufactured by the Widmore Corporation, who were
responsible for the construction of a building in the background of
Charlie's flashback episode, and Michael worked construction – maybe for
Widmore??)

I feel much more satisfied with the end of this season than last, and I hope
that it continues next year.
