When I rewatched last night, I noticed that Sun shows Kate a picture of Ji Yeon as a baby, but she must be between 2 ½ and 3 years old by the time they have this meeting (i.e. not much younger than Aaron). Thought that to be a bit odd, but maybe I’m reading into minutiae too much.
I’m convinced I’m right about that British DI member. (His suit says “Jones.”) However, I’ve been convinced that I’ve been right about many things before with this show…
In reading other people’s recaps today, including interviews with team Darlton, something else struck me. Darlton has said (on more than one occasion, including one post premiere interview) that if you die when you’re on the Island, you are dead. However, I was struck by the wording of this, especially in regard to Locke’s status. As I mentioned yesterday, Ben did not answer Jack when he asked if Locke was dead. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to assume that Locke will come back to life in some form when they get back to the Island. In fact, I would guess that most people who are watching Lost think that too.
Expanding on this though, how about Christian? Maybe in his very checkered past, Christian was on the Island at some point and left in a similar manner to Jack. (This could explain his excessive drinking.) He dies off-Island, and when 815 crashes, his body returns. Perhaps he is revived (in the same way Locke will be). That may explain his apparent ability to hold Aaron (in ‘The Shape of Things to Come’ when he convinces Claire to follow him). He may not actually be alive, but he could be more than just a vision.
Since the first season, I thought Christian was still alive. That was my first “BIG theory about Lost.” I was truly saddened when I read interview after interview with team Darlton and they assured everyone that Christian was dead. Well, maybe he technically still is. I wonder if this is part of the Island’s healing powers. Rose seemed to believe that if she left the Island, her cancer would come back. I’m curious to see if Jeremy Bentham is wheelchair-bound or not.
I also think that this theory fits very nicely with my, “If you visit the Island, you become part of the Island” theory that I wrote about yesterday.
